Be weather ready for late winter 2025/2026

The Met Office is encouraging people all around the UK to consider if they are #weather ready.

With several named storms since early January 2026 arriving over the UK, being prepared for unexpected flooding, driving in heavy rain and what to do in a power cut are all covered on the agency’s website.

Emergency services, local councils, the environment agency and other responders are all working together to ensure the public are kept informed of flooding risks across the whole county.

Being weather ready is also about staying warm and considering if there are any older people or vulnerable people in your community that you might be able to support. The Met Office site provides some useful information and tips for everyone.

#BCP Council and #Dorset Council would consider if their Severe Weather Protocols should be activated, based on the information from the Met Office.
