Training & Exercising

It is through the training and exercising programme that we embed the plans that are developed across the Local Resilience Forum and build the skill sets to enable responders to be confident in their ability to respond to the wide variety of challenges they may face.

Our courses are available to anyone that may have a role to play in responding to a Major Incident and details of when and where they are can be found in the calendar below.

The Dorset Civil Contingencies Unit will continue to develop courses to meet the needs of its partners.  If you don’t find what you are looking for here, please contact the team to discuss your requirements.

What we do

We ensure that all of the responders in Dorset are correctly trained to carry out the role that they would be required to undertake in a Major Incident in Dorset should the worst happen.

It is important that our responders get to practice these important skills in as many different scenarios as possible. Our exercising schedule ensures that our people are well versed and our plans are sound.

We are able to run bespoke training and exercising to meet your emergency response needs.  If you, or your organisation, has a training requirement, and you think we can help, please do get in touch and we will do all we can to assist.
